We design and build our habitat, and it exists within the collective ecosystem of everything else. Therefore, designers must be critically aware of the systemic effect of everything we build from the small to the large, and from the physical to the digital. Creative tools for manifesting our social and material structures need to match the creativity we conceive, and are further developed every day to make more informed decisions. The

link between advances in robotics, manufacturing and fabrication, computational simulation, algorithmic design, and the automation and optimization of digital product workflows affords the potential to discover better-informed solutions and the impact they have on humanity and the broader ecosystems of the planet. Intelligence is becoming easier to grasp as the processing of information is less

reliant on the human brain’s capacity to store and recall facts, and is transitioning to more accurate digital processes. Expertise is shifting to how well we can link that information together and how we interpret it to inform the directions we choose to go, as designers, citizens, and earthlings.

What I believe
Who I have been
I am a designer, artist, and researcher who leverages computation to explore emergent products, forms, and ideas with a passion that traverses the depths of linking digital and physical worlds with meaningful experiential impact. As an adventure creative, I seek to discover the delight and purpose of crafting new experiences infused with meaning that are informed through integrative research, computational design, and innovative delivery methods.
For about a decade, I have focused on developing skills for understanding the translation of parametric modeling and |
optimized geometry to physical assembly using advanced CAD/CAM processes. I have developed various scripts to generate products for direct to fabrication and worked with multi-objective-optimization methods for responsive projects to climate analysis, material properties, and fabrication parameters.
I have also worked with leading behaviorists that study the impact of design and architecture on humanity through a process to collect, analyze, and visualize data of environmental conditions, occupancy, and engagement with space. |
However, my talents primarily span the gap between strategy, technology, and design with an engineering and analytical mind to help communicate between aspiration, novelty, and transformative capabilities.
The select work presented in this repository demonstrates the holistic approach and integrated design workflows I have developed along a path of exploring emerging architecture and product development through the research of applied computation in design. |
